Trevor Blackman Named a Black History Month 2026 Honouree: A Celebration of Community, Opportunity and Shared Achievement
For more than two decades, Trevor has worked alongside young people, families, schools and community organisations, helping to create opportunities that open doors to education, training, creativity and employment.
Having grown up on a council estate himself, Trevor has never forgotten how much opportunity, encouragement and having people who believe in you can matter. That experience has shaped his commitment to ensuring young people, whatever their background or circumstances, have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
From young people finding the confidence to use their voice, to colleagues and community partners working together to create new possibilities, it is these shared experiences that have shaped his journey.
And that is what makes this recognition so meaningful.
While the honour celebrates Trevor’s contribution, it also reflects the many people who have been part of his journey: the communities that have welcomed him, the colleagues and partners who have worked alongside him, and the young people whose talent, ambition and determination continue to inspire him.
Their stories and achievements are woven into his own - a reminder that meaningful change is never the work of one person alone.
